Tiverton and Honiton MP Neil Parish will be assisting Minister for Transport as part of new role.

Local MP Neil Parish has been appointed as a ministerial aide to the Minister for Transport after the cabinet reshuffle.

Mr Parish, who represents Tiverton and Honiton, will be assisting MP John Hayes as part of his new role as parliamentary private secretary and will act as a liaison between backbench MPs and the Minister.

He will also attend meetings at the Department for Transport.

Mr Parish said: “I am honoured to have been asked to join the minster as his parliamentary private secretary and to assist him in his work at the Department of Transport.

“This Government has a strong record and is funding the biggest investment in transport infrastructure since World War Two and will invest over £70 billion in transport over the next eight years.

“I look forward to working with the minister to ensure that Devon and the rest of the UK has a resilient transport network that will help secure the gains of the Government’s long term economic plan.”
