Colyton Grammar School librarian and the head teacher’s assistant are praised for their work over 20 years

Twenty years of dedicate work has earned special recognition for two staff members at Colyton Grammar School.

Long service awards have been presented to Librarian Sue Burns-Price and headteacher’s personal assistant Sandra Parsons.

Both joined the school in 1993, and have been praised for their contributions over the past two decades – a period which has seen many6 changes.

Mrs Burns-Price was particularly commended for the work she has done to develop the school website, and for organising the team of volunteer parent helpers.

Miss Parsons has been praised for the great range of administrative work she deals with “super-efficiently”.

A former Colyton student, she said she particularly enjoys the “element of community” that the school has, as well as the variety of work she receives.

“Every year is different,” she said.

Echoing the sentiment Mrs Burns-Price said : “It’s a pleasure to come into work, as the environment is stimulating and there’s always something new every day.”

The two woman received their awards from the chairman of the Governors’ Staffing Committee, Linda Linnell.
