Low turnout for Police and Crime Commissioner election

Votes still being counted.

There has been a low turnout at the polls in East Devon with only 16.35 per cent taking part in the election yesterday (Thursday) to decide who will be the new Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon and Cornwall.

According to figures for the East Devon area the total number of verified ballot papers was 16,865.

Votes are still being counted and the winner has yet to be announced.
