Groups that link the resort with Barfleur in France and St George’s in Bermuda are getting together

The two twinning associations that link Lyme Regis with Barfleur in France and St George’s in Bermuda are getting together for a barbecue and boules afternoon.

Chairman of the Lyme Regis/Barfleur Association, John Dover, who also serves on the Bermuda group, said: “There has already been one such successful event, but this time we thought it would be fun to involve both groups who do so much to cultivate friendship for our town with others overseas.”

The event starts at 12pm on Sunday, September, 18, at Lyme Regis Football Club with the aim of raising funds for the associations, encouraging new members and providing an opportunity for current members to meet up again.

Family and friends are welcome and the two association would be delighted to see anyone who would like to join their groups.

Members are being asked to bring a side dish/dessert.

The clubhouse and bar will be open and there will be a £5 per head charge to cover costs.

There will also be a raffle.

Anyone wishing to attend should call 07769 655362 or e-mail jonner_dover@hotmail.com
