The police are inviting farmers living rurally to Exmouth to join Farm Watch, in the hope of cutting crime.
Farmers in the Lympstone area have been signing up to a police-led scheme to protect their property from thieves.
Devon and Cornwall police re-launched Farm Watch at the end of last year in a bid to crack down on thefts in rural areas.
Free property marking and community messaging has been offered to those joining up in the rural areas surrounding Exmouth.
A Devon and Cornwall police spokesperson said equipment, along with serial numbers, make and model could be registered on a police property website.
The spokesperson said: “The rural neighbourhood team have visited several farms in the area and we are pleased to report an excellent take up of farmers signing up to the scheme.
“We appreciate that registering details of all the machinery and tools used on a modern farm is a large task and it is good to hear farmers are prepared to get involved.”
