A male has been airlifted to hospital after being freed from the wreckage of a vehicle in Lyme Regis.

The casualty was extricated from the vehicle by firefighters using hydraulic rescue equipment following a crash at Knoll Hill this morning.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service says it sent a duty officer to the resort to aid fire crews from Dorset.

A spokesman said: “Upon arrival, crews found one vehicle with one male trapped inside.

“Crews stabilised the vehicle and extricated the casualty using hydraulic rescue equipment and small tools.”
