Seaton GP Roger Bramley raised £2,600 for national deafblind charity Sense when he took part in the London Marathon recently.

The 49-year-old completed the gruelling 26-mile race in just 3 hours 47 minutes.

Dr Bramley, who lives in Beer, looks after the residents at the charity’s care home in Seaton, through his work as a local doctor.

Speaking after the race he said: “It was such a fantastic experience running the marathon. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it’s great to know that the money raised will help continue the amazing work the charity does to support deafblind people.

“I’m very proud of being involved in looking after the six residents at the care home, who are great characters and well-known in the community. The carers at the home are a fantastic team and it’s a privilege to be working with them.”

There is still time to sponsor Dr Bramley, by visiting the website: www.justgiving.com/roger-bramley
