Motorcyclist seriously injured after collision

A motorcyclist was left with serious chest and leg injuries after a collision on the A35 near Honiton.

Police, ambulance and the air ambulance attended the incident last Sunday (August 24), which happened at 12.50pm at the junction of Ramsden Lane, Offwell.

A police spokesman said: “The collision involved a black Suzuki motorcycle, being ridden by a man in his fifties, and a red Toyota Yaris, being driven by a man in his eighties.

“The motorcyclist suffered serious chest and leg injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital. His condition is described as life changing.

“Both men are local to Honiton.”

Diversions were in place and the road was closed until 8.30pm while collision investigators worked at the scene.

Any witnesses are being urged to call police on 101 and quote reference 436 24 August 2014.
