West Dorset MP opens new campsite shower block

Sir Oliver Letwin unveils new luxury washing facilities at the Monkton Wyld site

West Dorset MP Sir Oliver Letwin has officially opened new luxury shower and wash facilities at a popular West Dorset camping and caravanning park.

He was joined for the ceremony at the site in Scotts Lane, Monkton Wyld, near Axminster, by Bob Hill, sites director of The Camping and Caravanning Club, Chris Porter, chairman of the sites committee,

Trudi Robson, manager of Lyme Regis Tourist Information Centre and Lyme Town Crier Alan Vian.

A spokesman for the site said: “The opening of the new shower block represents continued investment and reflects our commitment to the holiday park industry and the strength of the tourist industry in West Dorset.

“We hope this building will go a long way in continuing to raise the quality of the camping and caravan experience for visitors to our area.

“We thank Sir Oliver for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit us.”

P H Hardwill, the main contractors, were thanked them for their commitment to the project.
