Lone man at Seaton studio will attempt to stay silent throughout the working day to raise cash for charity

It’s not always easy to get a word in edgeways when you are the only man in the workplace.

So Phil de la Maziere, the lone male employee at Seaton Toning Studio, in Queen Street, thought he would take advantage of his silent moments - and raise some money for charity.

He will attempt to spend tomorrow (Wednesday) without uttering a single word from the time the studio opens until the final client leaves.

And if he succeeds he will have plenty to shout about. He expects to have raised at least £200 for the Devon Freewheelers, a group of volunteer bikers who provide a free out of hours emergency response courier service to the NHS.

Anyone who would like to sponsor Phil is welcome to chip in tomorrow - just don’t ask him to say thanks.
