Honiton’s policing force has welcomed a new police community support officer (PCSO) to its ranks.

PCSO Richard Shelton recently joined the town’s neighbourhood policing team, having joined Devon and Cornwall Police in April 2006.

He worked the majority of his career in the Beacon Heath and Pinhoe area of Exeter.

Inspector Chris Chamings said: “I am very much looking forward to welcoming Richard into our neighbourhood team.

“He is a very capable PCSO and comes highly recommended to us by his current supervisors.

“Richard has a real passion for community policing and has a wealth of experience working with young people and tackling anti-social behaviour.

“He will be a huge asset to our team and to the community and I know he is looking forward to developing working relationships with our partner agencies in order to improve the quality of life for the people of Honiton.”
