Special visitors from Finland joined Honiton and District Lions Club to welcome in the group’s new president

Members were joined by Juhani Haveri, who is a member of the Lions in Finland, and his wife Paula, during the club’s Lions president’s handover dinner at The Otter Inn, Weston.

Juhani has been a Lions member for more than 36 years and decided to visit the Honiton club whilst on holiday in the South West.

During the dinner outgoing club president Ed Pescud passed over the reigns to Brian Richards. Speaking about the past year Ed thanked everyone for their efforts in raising and distributing over £8,000 locally - adding that none of this would have been possible without the kindness and generosity of the community.

He also challenged the club’s new president Brian to raise £10,000 next year.
