A Honiton shop owner has been selected to become the newest member of the town council.
Cathryn Andrews, who runs Icing Occasions, was the successful candidate co-opted onto Honiton Town Council last week and will serve the St Paul’s ward.
She replaces Marianne Harman who resigned earlier this year.
She said: “I moved to Honiton six years ago and fell in love with Honiton. I took a massive interest in the town and have an input in the town and do as much as I can to get involved. I see things I would like to have a say on and want to be more vocal. I am very committed to this town and I want to have an input.”
Previously Miss Andrews was bank manager and also ran a holiday park. She added: “I am a giver and I like being a part of something and being involved in what is going on.”
Two candidates, Miss Andrews and Stuart Ellis, stood for co-option and both gave presentations before answering questions put to them by councillors.
