New councillor needed

Honiton Town Council is now inviting applications.

A new councillor is being sought to serve on Honiton Town Council.

The vacancy on St Michael Ward follows the resignation of Cllr Mike Allen. The successful applicant will be co-opted on to the council.

Send applications to the town clerk by Monday, July 7, which must include a letter explaining their reasons for wanting to become a town councillor and a brief curriculum vitae.

Successful applicants will be invited to attend a town council meeting on July 14.

The town council is involved with issues such as planning, highways, community safety, housing, street lighting, allotments, playing fields, community facilities, street cleanliness, seats and shelters, rights of way.
