New town clerk appointed

New town clerk to join Honiton Town Council next year.

A new clerk has been appointed by Honiton Town Council and will join councillors in the New Year.

Chetna Jones will replace the current town clerk, Lyn Hargood, when she retires in January 2013.

Mrs Jones is currently the clerk and responsible financial officer for Branscombe Parish Council, as well as being the senior advisor at the Honiton branch of Britannia.

The mayor, Councillor David Foster, said: “We are very much looking forward to working with Chetna, who brings a great deal of experience not only in terms of clerking and financial management but also in respect of a range of business knowledge.”
