‘Outstanding’ result for Feniton Primary School

Feniton Church of England Primary School has received a glowing report from inspectors praising all areas of its work as outstanding.

To celebrate the outstanding Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) report staff and pupils were presented with a certificate by Archbishop Christopher Futcher from the Exeter Diocese.

Executive headteacher Colin Butler said: “We are very pleased and incredibly proud of this report.”

“We have a conscientious and hard working staff team at Feniton Church of England Primary School and the children are positive well behaved and keen to learn.”

He added: “The children’s attitudes and behaviour owe much to our ethos as a Church of England school which is borne out by this latest inspection report.”

The inspector praised the school’s ‘distinctiveness and effectiveness’ as a Church of England School and the effectiveness of the leadership and management was described as outstanding.

The report added: “The unswerving commitment of the school leadership team for the improvement of the school’s distinctive Christian character has been at the heart of the school’s success.”

The ‘strong impact’ of the school’s partnership with the school in Melanesia was also recognised.

In the report it also said: “Distinctive Christian values, known as the school’s HEART values, have a strong impact on the children’s academic achievement, personal development and well being.”

The ‘effectiveness of religious education’, which ‘inspired’ the children at Feniton Primary School was also recognised.
