Parishes Together funding bid progressing

Details of Honiton’s bid to be finalised.

Honiton’s Parishes Together funding bid is progressing.

Councillor Marianne Harman told the town council’s policy committee last week that seven parishes have expressed an interest in joining forces with the town.

Initially, the town council had planned to involve Devon County Council’s youth service, which is no longer interested in taking part, to use the money to improve provisions for young people in the area.

Cllr Harman said each parish involved intended to buy a grab box with equipment, which they would manage themselves.

She advised that she would be attending a meeting to finalise the details and press on with the bid.
