THE parish church in Honiton will stage its annual patronal festival, celebrating the life of St Paul, on Sunday, January 27.St Paul was an extraordinary man, an aristocrat and an adventurer, and was hand-picked by God to travel the world proclaiming and explaining the life of Jesus.The Roman authorities, that executed Jesus, found St Paul tiresome. They forced him into a ring with wild animals as part of a circus.St Paul survived, but carried the scars for the rest of his life.A banner, commemorating St Paul, will be paraded through the church at the 9.30am service. Coffee and biscuits will be served after the event.
