Axe Valley Community College students enjoy a theatre workshop as their prize in WW2 contest

A four-hour workshop with the Stories and More Theatre Company was enjoyed by Year 10 students at The Axe Valley Community College.

It was the school’s prize for its winning entry in the East Devon WW1 Poetry Competition held earlier this year - featuring verses written by Ben Brake.

With warm up games, team working, confidence building and dynamic teaching from members of the company, the students had an amazing morning.

Head of English, Naome Gribbler said afterwards: “It is such a pleasure to see students interacting, growing in confidence and skills in this way and we would like to thank not only Stories and More but also East Devon District Council for organising the poetry competition.”
