Teenage girl allegedly assaulted while travelling on a bus between Axminster and Seaton

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl was allegedly sexually assaulted on a bus in the Axe Valley.

The 16-year-old local girl was travelling on the number 885 bus which left Axminster at 5.10pm on Tuesday May 6 and was travelling to Seaton.

She sat next to a man who allegedly placed his hand on her leg and kissed her without consent.

The man is described as white, in his fifties, of medium build, with short grey and brown receding hair. He was wearing an orange zip-up fleece, smart trousers and shiny black shoes.

DC Claire Ware, investigating officer, said: “There were other people on the bus who may know who the man is or may have seen what happened.

“In particular we are keen to speak to a woman who sat behind the girl before getting off at Colyton.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call Honiton CID on 101 quoting crime reference KA/14/233, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
