The chairman of the Stockland Fair Committee, Peter Maitland, cut a loo paper ribbon – and declared Stockland and Yarcombe Pre-School’s new toilets officially open.

The ceremony was combined with a fund raising event in the Victory Hall, with youngsters taking part in a series of Easter themed activites, alongside the country market.

Sarah Thompson, chairman of the pre-school, said it was a huge success.

“The weather was kind to us and it was great to see so many children taking part and enjoying the day – and, of course, the country market,” she said.

“We’ve raised a fabulous total of over £100, which will go towards the much-needed refurbishment of the pre-school room. Thanks to everyone who came along and supported us.”
