Chefs deliver a Chinese takeaway to children at Seaton Primary School

School dinners took on an oriental flavour when pupils at Seaton Primary school enjoyed a Chinese takeaway last week.

The meal was brought in by staff from the town’s Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant in Harbour Road.

Each child in Year 2 enjoyed vegetable spring rolls, prawn crackers and fortune cookies.

The youngsters have been learning all about China this term and were grateful to the restaurant owner and his staff for giving them a taste of the country’s cuisine. They also leant about the Chinese New Year and which animal of the zodiac they each were.

Class teacher Lucy Wilkinson said the children and teachers had a wonderful morning and thanked restaurant boss William and his team for their generosity.

She said: “The children have really enjoyed learning about China and have completed lots of activities including cooking Chinese dumplings, making Chinese dragons and lanterns, writing China information books, listening to traditional music and painting Chinese symbols.”
