Axminster Primary School children swap uniforms for PJs to celebrate World Book Day
YOUNGSTERS at Axminster Community Primary School swapped their uniforms for pyjamas to enjoy a little “bedtime” reading yesterday (Thursday).
They were amongst thousands of pupils across the country taking part in World Book Day events.
They took along their best-loved stories – and cuddly toys – to read extracts to their classmates.
They were also asked to write and draw details of their favourite book, with prizes for the best entries.
The school canteen put on a tasty Roald Dahl menu, which included Magic Fingers and Witches Sticks, Fantastic Mr Fox, Enormous Crocodiles and George’s Marvellous Medicine.
