Two members of the 1064 Air Training Corps based in Honiton have received the highest level of commendation from the air cadets organisation.

The certificates of meritorious service were presented to Warrant Officer and squadron commander Chris Woods and Flight Sergeant Jake Rosen last Thursday.

Warrant officer Woods said: “This award came as somewhat of a surprise to me. I was pleasantly shocked to discover that I was being awarded one of these commandant’s certificates, when there are so few nationally.

“That said, I’m just happy to carry on in my role leading 1064 Squadron and this amazing group of young people.”

The awards were presented by Wing Commander Brian Wills-Pope MBE.

A recruitment evening is being held on Monday, October 8, at 7pm, for young people aged between 13 and 18 interested in joining the Honiton Air Training Corps.
