Eight people helped to safety after flooding threatens homes in Feniton.

Firefighters helped eight people as well as dogs and a canary to safety after floodwater threatened their homes in Feniton.

Crews from Honiton and Ottery St Mary attended the incident on Saturday, November 24, at 10.13pm.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “The floodwater was threatening around 50 homes, but fortunately only entered a couple of properties.

“However, the rising water was within millimetres of entering other properties.”

Those affected were taken to a local football club.

Fire crews pumped out the affected properties.
