Sam Nichol has been named the winner of the 2012 children’s Honiton lace making competition.

More than 1,170 votes were cast by visitors to Allhallows Museum in Honiton this year.

Archivist and curator Margaret Lewis said a great many had praised all of the entries, with some saying it was too difficult to chose a favourite.

A few spaces are available in the Honiton lace making classes.

For young people, aged from eight to 18, the classes are held on Saturdays during school term time at the museum, from 8.30am to 10.30am.

The cost is £8 per term, with all the equipment provided.
