Head wears a red wig and feather boa as Axminster Primary supports Red Nose Day
A special Red Nose Day cake - a star prize in a raffle for Comic Relief at Axminster Community Primary SchoolAxminster Community Primary School had raised more than £760 for Comic Relief by today (Monday) - with more funds to be counted.
Children in Year 6 and their parents spent the run up to the big event baking cakes to sell to the rest of the school who also bought tickets for a super draw, prizes for which included a splendid “dynamite” red nose cake.
A non-uniform concession produced the usual great array of dyed hair for which pupils were “fined” and, finally, the sale of red noses totalled nearly £240 alone.
In a special assembly, the staff sponsored the headteacher Tony Harvell to undergo a makeover, complete with splendid red wig and red feather boa.
Staff at the school thanked all the children and parents for their support with such a worthy cause.
