Police cordon off access route to Monmouth Beach at Lyme Regis and warn further cliff falls are likely

The access road to Monmouth Beach at Lyme Regis has been closed after a major landslip.

Police have cordoned off the area and are warning people to stay away.

They say the road will remain shut indefinitely as there is a considerable risk of further cliff falls.

There is also a risk to beach chalets in the area and police are advising owners not to try to access their properties “under any circumstances”.

No one was hurt in the intitial incident.
