A new reign is set to begin in Honiton as the search to find Honiton Carnival’s royal family is launched.

Honiton Carnival committee is looking for girls and boys of school age to get involved in this year’s carnival circuit and represent the town.

Nominations need to be in writing and sent to Jenny Allen, 7 Littletown Road, Honiton, by Monday, June 30. Entrants must be able to participate in carnival events in Honiton and beyond throughout the carnival season.

For more information call Jenny on 01404 43430.

The carnival committee is also inviting organisations to apply for donations from this year’s carnival proceeds. Organisations wishing to apply are urged to email Karen Wilson at karen.wilson1962@talktalk.net or write to 11 St Cyres Road, Honiton, EX14 1NQ.

The committee gave £1,500 to Hospiscare and Honiton Rugby Club. Further donations were presented to Honiton Twirlstars, Busy Bee Pre-school and 1st Honiton Brownies from the proceeds of last year’s carnival.
