Twenty children from the Uplyme Pre-school headed for the woods to search for bluebells.

They were thrilled to find a carpet of blue and enjoyed the challenge of seeking out the rare white bells amongst the blue ones.

The children spotted badger setts, smelled the wild garlic as well as feeling the different textures of the barks on the giant pine trees.

After a bug hunt and a picnic snack the children then walked back to the village hall, keeping a lookout for any rubbish which they carefully picked up as part of Spring Clean Uplyme - an activity organised by the parish council.

This is just one of the activities the Pre-school provides for the children aged between two and four years of age. At the moment they are also having a yoga session one morning a week - which the youngsters greatly enjoy. Other visitors to the pre-school have included Funky Monkeys music sessions and members of the emergency services.
