Carnival queen and princess are crowned by TV celebrity Graham Barton

TV property auctioneer Graham Barton crowned Seaton’s royal party to launch the town’s carnival week which is currently under way (Thursday September 1).

The star of BBC1’s ‘Homes Under The Hammer’ carried out the ceremony at the town hall, after being introduced by Mayor Marcus Hartnell.

He crowned queen Jamie Leigh Parfitt and her sister Tia who is one of the two princesses along with Hayley Jones, who could not attend the event.

Mr Barton gave a short speech in which he said that after many years Seaton was finally getting the investment it deserved, making the town more attractive to visitors and local residents.

The carnival reaches its climax with the colourful illuminated procession of floats and walking entries around the town on Saturday (September 3).
