Popular visitor attraction is looking to welcome more recruits on board

Seaton Tramway is looking to welcome aboard more volunteers.

The popular tourist attraction – a registered charity - is currently seeking reliable, friendly and enthusiastic individuals to join the team.

There are various tasks and opportunities people can help with, including many non-tram aspects.

Volunteers enjoy a range of benefits such as a meal voucher for food and drink up to £5 each day they work, unlimited free travel on the tramway for their family and friends, as well as discounts in the gift shop and tramstop café at Colyton.

“In addition, they get to enjoy the satisfaction of being part of a unique tourist attraction,” said Jenny Nunn, chief executive of Seaton Tramway.

Volunteer Sandy Parle agrees with that. She is a member of the tramway’s meet and greet team, helping direct visitors who arrive on coaches and providing information about the trams.

She said: “It’s very rewarding meeting and greeting happy people wanting a fabulous experience in Seaton on our tramway.”

There are currently around 35 volunteers at the tramway and there are vacancies for many different roles, including drivers, meet-and-greet and engineering.

Hours vary slightly depending on the role: a minimum 14 days a year for drivers; a regular time slot - one day a week - for those in the meet-and-greet and engineering team.

For more information on availability of volunteering roles, please contact Sue on 01297 20375 or send a cover letter to sue@tram.co.uk
