Townsend Surgery staff and patients back Shoebox Appeal to send 68 gift wrapped parcels to the front line in Afghanistan
Generous patients and staff at a Seaton surgery have clubbed together to give frontline troops a winter tonic.
The team at Townsend House is sending 68 gift-wrapped parcels to service personnel in Afghanistan, as part of Operation Shoebox.
The contribution has been organised for the second year running by surgery staff members Julie Thomas and Debbie Wakley, whose soldier son Adam served with One Rifles in Afghanistan last year.
Said Julie: “That was when we originally got involved in Operation Shoebox and sent 21 boxes – but this year the support has been much greater and has exceeded all our expectations.
“We want to thank all our friends, colleagues and patients at Townsend House Medical Centre who donated, money, items for the boxes and completed boxes.”
