All lines back in action after yesterday’s heavy flooding

South West Trains services are running as normal this morning (Friday, December 21) following disruption yesterday caused by heavy rain and flooding across parts of the region.

A spokeswoman for the South West Trains-Network Rail Alliance, said: “Train services have now been restored in all of the areas that were affected by disruption yesterday and services are running virtually as normal this morning.

“There are speed restrictions in place in a small number of areas that were affected by flooding but we don’t expect that to have a significant impact on train services. A full timetable is running on all lines.

“We would like to apologise again to our customers for the disruption to their services yesterday and thank them for their patience throughout the day.”
