How the A30 and A35 in East Devon look this morning...
After yesterday’s severe weather caused disruption on roads around East Devon, the picture is improving today.
While motorists are still urged to drive with caution, particularly on untreated roads or where snow is still lying, the route between Hunters Lodge and Honiton on the A35 is gritted and clear.
There was a four-vehicle pile-up, involving an ambulance, between Copper Castle and Windmill Garage, yesterday lunchtime when falling flakes of snow were so big they were likened to saucers.
The A30 between Honiton and Exeter is also clear, even at Daisymount where conditions deteriorated for a spell yesterday afternoon.
The advice to motorists using the A3052 is to exercise caution. Snow caused problems in Sidford and around the Seaton area yesterday.
The current temperature along the above-mentioned routes is varying between 1 degree and 0.
Irish travellers have found refuge from the severe weather in Lace walk car park, Honiton. They were en-route to a traveller site when extreme weather forced them to take a detour into the town.
The matching caravans, complete with crests, cut a dash against the backdrop of bleak weather.
