Suitor asks for girlfriend’s hand in marriage with a message spelled out in pebbles on Seaton seafront

Who was the Christmas shingle belle? That’s the question being posed by seafront walkers at Seaton who spotted an unusual marriage proposal written in pebbles on Christmas Day.

One Herald reader sent us a photo of the suitor’s plea which apparently says: “Hen will you marry me?”

Our contributor, who was out for a walk with his wife on the prom by the Chine Café, said: “I’d love to know what the answer was.”

Do you know the woman’s identity and what her reply was? If so please call The Herald on 01392 888488 or e mail chris.carson@archant.co.uk
