RNLI volunteers ready to reopen award winning Lyme Regis lifeboat souvenir store at The Cobb
Volunteers who run the RNLI gift shop in Lyme Regis will reopen the doors for the new season on Monday (March 18).
Some 40 men and women staff the shop, and at a coffee morning yesterday (Wednesday) they were praised for helping to achieve another highly successful year supporting the lifeboat charity.
The shop’s volunteer manager, Brian Cursley, said turnover for the past 12 months had been £165,000 and once again Lyme Regis had been placed second in the league table of all RNLI retail outlets. Top was Whitby and in third place was Southend on Sea.
Mr Cursley thanked all the volunteers for giving their time freely and outlined some of the top selling goods, including 65,000 Christmas cards, 1,300 fishing lines and three hundred jigsaws featuring the sights of Lyme Regis.
