A budding young sportsman from Honiton has been overwhelmed by the support from the community which has enable him to purchase a specialist sports wheelchair.
Jamie Dyer, who suffers with cerebral palsy, is getting to grips with his new club sport wheelchair, which will help him get the most out of his basketball training.
The total cost of the specialist chair was £1,158. Jamie received generous donations from family and friends, Richard Marker of the Combe Estate, and the Mullins Trust and Battishorne Trust towards the chair.
Jamie’s mum June said: “Jamie would like to say a big thank you for his new club sports chair he will be able to get a lot more out of the basketball training.
Jamie trains with the Exeter Otters’ wheelchair basketball junior development team. If anyone is interested in finding out more about the Exeter Otters call June via the Midweek Herald on 01392 888485.
