Honiton PCSO urges residents to dress to be seen.
Devon and Cornwall Police are urging pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists to make themselves more visible as the evenings draw in.
Road safety officers are reminding everyone of the importance to stand out at night and in bad weather.
PCSO Darren England of Honiton neighbourhood team police station said: “When the light or weather is poor, easy-to see clothing is a must so it is crucial to invest in high-visibility clothing and stay safe on the road.
“Bright, highly visible colours make sense when out in daylight, whereas highly reflective materials are crucial in low light conditions.
“Even wearing an inexpensive hi-visibility bib or rucksack cover could make a big difference.”
