Lyme Regis lifeboat answers its 26th callout of the year after vessel develops engine trouble
The crew of Lyme Regis RNLI lifeboat were called to their 26th emergency of the year today (Thursday October 24) when a fishing boat developed engine failure.
Two men aboard the 18ft vessel called for help when their engine broke down off Abbotsbury.
The lifeboat was launched at 10.37am, and as it approached the fishing boat its engine was restarted.
To ensure the safety of the two men, the lifeboat escorted the fishing vessel into West Bay harbour.
The lifeboat returned to Lyme Regis at noon.
