Increase in sales at this year’s Honiton Art Society annual exhibition.
Honiton Art Society enjoyed another successful annual exhibition – which this year yielded an increase in sales.
The group’s 49th exhibition came to an end last Saturday and was held at the Mackarness Hall.
A spokeswoman for the society said: “Sales were up on last year with many paintings snapped up on the preview evening.
“It was a particularly good exhibition for Linda Hampson, who was delighted to have sold all her beautiful, detailed paintings in coloured pencil and pastel. There were many favourable comments in our visitors’ book regarding the quality and diversity of the work on show.”
A seascape painting by Carolyn Baker, Evening Tide 2, attracted the eyes of many visitors and was voted the public’s favourite during the exhibition.
Dudley Broom was the winner of the preview evening raffle prize – An Autumn Scene by Terry Harrison.
The first autumn meeting of the society takes place on Monday, October 14, at Awliscombe Village Hall, from 2pm until 4pm.
Stephen Foster will be demonstrating painting landscapes in watercolour.
Visitors are welcome to attend. The entrance fee is £2.
