Police appeal for witnesses after 18-year-old Axminster Porsche driver dies in two-vehicle collision near Trill

An eighteen year old Axminster man has died after a road crash at Musbury.

The accident happened at about 10.20 pm last night (Wednesday 31 October 31) when a black Porsche was in collision with a white Peugeot van, at Trill.

Emergency services attended the scene but the driver of the Porsche died at the scene whilst the driver and passenger of the van escaped serious injury.

Firefighters from Axminster and Colyton attended the scene along with the heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor Exeter.

The crews extricated one male casualty from the van, using hydraulic rescue equipment. The casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance.

They also freed the second male casualty from the car, with severe injuries, using hydraulic rescue equipment.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or the events leading up to it, to contact them on 101 quoting log number 846 311012.

* Following the crash traffic was diverted around Hunters Lodge.

The road was reopened at 6.15am today (Thursday, November 1).
