Seaton Police launch a new campaign to help boat owners keep their vessels secure
POLICE are warning boat owners to be extra vigilant following a spate of thefts involving equipment and fuel from vessels in and around Axmouth Harbour.
Seaton PCSOs Mike McGauley and Sam Slater have been handing out leaflets telling sailors how to beef up security.
Key points are to: * Secure outboard engines using transom lock; remove fuel tanks and lines; remove chart-plotters, electronics and compass from display; remove flare packs, safety equipment and anchors and mark equipment.
