A man and woman, from Ottery St Mary, have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision on the A30 which left two people from Ottery St Mary with serious injuries.

The incident took place at Clyst Honiton near to Exeter Airport, on Saturday (October 21), at 12.25am, and involved a silver Vauxhall Astra and a silver Seat Altea.

A 48-year-old female passenger, from Ottery St Mary, was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (RD&E) with life-threatening injuries and is said to be in a critical condition.

The driver of the Seat, a 49-year-old man, also from Ottery St Mary, was taken to the RD&E with serious injuries.

Police believe the Astra was travelling west on the east-bound carriageway when it collided head-on with the Seat travelling in the opposite direction.

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101.
