Gardening group needs to appoint new commmittee members at its annual general meeting

Uplyme and Lyme Regis Horticultural Society will be looking to recruit new committee members at the annual general meeting next week.

Several key members are standing down and organisers say replacements are needed to help run the society over the coming year.

The AGM will take place in Uplyme Village Hall at 7.30pm

on Wednesday, November 22.

Urging people to offer their services a spokesman said: “Please do not hesitate to come forward, as more hands make lighter work.”

The meeting will be followed at 8pm by a talk, given by Ben Candlin, a well-known professional speaker and gardener.

His subject will be “Plants of Tenerife and the Canaries” - perhaps a welcome reminder of warmer climes at this chilly time of year.

Tea and biscuits will be available before and after the meeting and non-members are welcome to attend at a charge of £3.
