Group is hoping to recruit more dancers and musicians after celebrating its tenth anniversary

Uplyme Morris Men, who are celebrating their 10th Birthday, visited Uplyme Pre-school last week.

They gave the children a demonstration of their dancing, and

then invited them to join in.

The Morris Men then presented the pre-school with a cheque for £100.

Organisers said they were “extremely grateful” for the generous donation.

Uplyme Morris is hoping to attract even more members in its 11th year.

Squire Peter Morton told The Herald that it was important to keep the local tradition going.

“We would like to recruit new people. It is a lot of fun, a good social thing and it keeps you fit!” he said.

The Morris Men meet on Tuesdays from 7pm at The Bottle Inn, Marshwood. Anyone interested in joining – either as a dancer (men only) or a musician - is welcome to go along and find out more.

Alternatively they can contact Mr Morton on 07917 748 087 or email petemorton56@googlemail.com
