Police called to direct bank holiday traffic after engine blaze

BANK holiday traffic was delayed on the A35, near Axminster, this afternoon (Monday) after a van, towing a caravan, caught fire.

Crews from Axminster and Colyton attended the incident, near the Cooks Lane junction, at around 2.20pm, and called police to control the traffic while they used hose reel jets to put out the blaze.
