Fire at Castle Hill industrial estate wrecks five cars and a lorry - two others were slightly damaged

Several vehicles were severely damaged during a fire in a compound at Axminster in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, March 6).

Two Fire Appliances from Axminster and Colyton were sent to Castle Hill industrial estate at around 3.50am after reports of a possible horse box on fire near to other cars.

On arrival the crews found the vehicle was well alight and had set fire to five other cars. Four vehicles were severely damaged and two further vehicles slightly damaged. The crews used breathing apparatus, three hose reels and a jet to put the fire out.
