Teenagers’ debut concert at Uplyme Church earns them a standing ovation

Two talented young singers staged a debut recital for Axminster–based mental health charity The Project.

Freya Morgan, 15, who attends Woodroffe school and Holly Smith, 14, from the Axe Valley Academy, are both students of the London College of Music.

They received a standing ovation after a 90 minute performance of songs from the movies at Uplyme Church.

The girls were expertly supported on the piano by their vocal coach Anna Gregory.

One member of the audience said afterwards: “....we were all enthralled by not only the quality of the singing but also the poise and confidence of the two young ladies.”

The total raised for The Project - which helps young people and their families cope with emotional problems - was an amazing £570. Freya and Holly have thanked everyone who supported them and for their generosity.

The girls have already received a request to sing at a wedding next summer and would like to continue to build on their experience. They can be contacted via larainemorgan100@gmail.com
