While Millwey Rise first-team went down to a 4-2 defeat, the seconds were beaten by goals late in each half against Tedburn St Mary Reserves.

'Rise' began playing some attacking football and from a clearance by their young keeper Flynn Smith Robbie Prior fired a shot just past the upright.

Play went back and forward with few significant chances being created. The nearest 'Rise' came was a shot by Sam Beviss which flew just over the bar. Then, as the referee was about to blow and bring the half to a close, Tedburn broke away and scored.

For most of the second period, Millwey were attacking their opponents goal but, although the shots rained in with Ben Rosling hitting the post and two Ashley Hall headers just over, no goals were forthcoming. Tedburn sealed the points with another late strike.

Manager Terry Male said: “The lads did very well and the young players are learning very quickly.”
